Live theater is very much alive in Suffolk County. Performing arts centers and regional theaters, such as the magnificent Staller Center at Stony Brook University, attract national and international artists, but Suffolk abounds with performing arts groups and societies that are all our own. Drama, music, and dance are all well represented through our many performing arts organizations. Orchestras and music ensembles, opera companies, choral groups and dance companies entertain year round. We have no less than three Shakespearean companies to celebrate the works of the Bard, and Suffolk is home to many local theater groups.
In short, there are myriad opportunities and ways to be entertained and, if you are a performer yourself, many venues at which to exhibit your talents.
